‘VAMSHI’ – PACK OF ‘AKASMIKA APARADHI PARINAMA’
Posted date: 3/October/2008
‘Vamshi’ a film from the power star Puneeth Rajakumar is a power packed cinema as the ‘Akasmika’ – unexpected takes in the life of his mother for which he becomes the ‘Aparadhi’ and he had to face the Parinama – the resultant impact (all three put together Akasmika Aparadhi Parinama was Dr.Rajakumar’s ‘Akasmika’ film based on Tharasu novel). In a nutshell this statement explains everything about the film ‘Vamshi’.

This is not just one more action film from power star Puneeth Rajakumar. There is human emotions, mother and son sentiment, the quixotic situation the son faces for none of his problems for which the mother goes pensive the police department shows scant respect for the boy who wants to do something from his hard work and sincerity. It is because the criminals are more inside rather than outside. A rowdy’s son can become only rowdy not police officer says the police records. It is somewhat like Kallana Hendathi Endadru Mu….. (Did you remember the dialogue from Nanobba Kalla of Dr.Rajakumar)

Title – VAMSHI, Banner

Chakreshwari Combines

Story, Direction – Prakash

Music – RP Patnaik

Cinematography – Krishnakumar

Cast – Puneeth Rajakumar, Lakshmi, Nikitha, Ravi Kale, Avinash, Rajendra Karanth, Komalkumar, Sunderraj, B.Jaya and others.

Vamshi a hard nut to crack is a guy who does not want to live like others. He knows how he wants to live. His asset is his intelligence. He wants to make use of it in safeguarding his mother and police department. His ‘Gnapaka and Guri’ is mother and police. What happened to such workaholic? He shows the file he has prepared at the time of his final interview for the posting. The first photography of criminal is most wanted by the DCP and the last leaf in the file is blank. The department officials who are in connivance with the rowdies he wants to put it there. This in fact irks the DCP and on the spot Vamshi is questioned about his father. The DCP has also made some clever exercise on this particular guy ‘Vamshi’. The questioning the KR initials – that is of the famous rowdy Kotnal Ramachandra irks Vamshi and as usual he if flared up and holds the collar of DCP – this is the interview for Vamshi falls like pack of cards and he is sent out without any posting and unfit for the police officer position because he is the son of a Don.

When the government rules perfectly says a rowdy son cannot become a police officer why so much of hue and cry you would ask the director. But director like the routine Indian movies takes his stand not deviating without any turns for better. Vamshi takes the wrong path when the MLA says ‘Power man Power’!

Vamshi becomes the kingpin of underworld. No one can shake him. Even the seat of power is supporting him. I have not become the police to take salute but a rowdy also like me takes salute he says to his mother who once said you are not ‘Poli Kano’ but Police.

Idhenaithu Idhenaithu….song comes splashing at the background that explains the situation of Vamshi. His reach to the height of power is earned but not given. What he thinks is a reversal for Vamshi while his mother cries of past pain with Sharadha (NIkitha) in the hospital a sordid tale that further puts down the courage of Vamshi. He decides to surrender to police with that intention he approaches his mother but the mother with the intention sown by DCP that he would be killed like a dog on the roads is ready to feed poison and see his death on her lap. You would see some more action after this too.

This is a powerful cinema from power star Puneeth Rajakumar. What Shivarajakumar does with ‘long’ weapon in earlier movies Puneeth repeats here with a difference. He attacks the attackers from the back and front of ‘long’. Many roll on the floor losing breath from his wielding of ‘long’. Even in emotions Puneeth Rajakumar is impressive. Dance and usual action is a cake walk for him.

Lakshmi’s performance is sharper than the ‘long weapons’ Vamshi holds in the cinema. She is a natural performer. Nikita is a treat to watch. Komal, Rajendra Karanth, Avinash are done their portions with ease. Ravi Kale is brilliant.

Two of the songs of RP are ‘Kelable and Nodable’ because of KK. The same KK’s cinematography goes blur in some occasions on screen in Santosh theatre at 4.30 pm show.

The film has a song of Dr.Rajakumar on Chakreshwari and then the dialogues in the introduction format from Upendra and to explain the height of mother and son sentiment the song from Hoovu Hannu sung by Dr.Rajkumar comes for a maximum of applaud.

If you are a Puneeth Rajakumar and Lakshmi’s fan don’t miss this one.
